NAB AFL Auskick is the Australian Football League’s key introductory program for primary school-aged boys and girls and their families. Through our WEEKLY COACHING PROGRAM you’ll learn the skills of the game through appropriately modified activities and rules, play football in a fun and safe environment and make plenty of new friends too!

PARENTS - The program was supported by more than 20,000 volunteers around the country in 2009. THIS TEAM IS FOR YOU TOO! The involvement of parents is an integral component of the success of the program, so get out of the car and get involved.

Your centre coordinator will provide all the help and advice you need. You don’t need to have a background in the game, just the willingness to spend more time with your children, learn new skills, get active and make new friends.

If you are registering for U08 or U09 or another team - do not register online - go to our registration guide

Online registration for new and previous participants in Auskick is preferred and recommended by the NHJFC. It will save time.

Registration for 2010 - choose New Participant or Re-Register on the AFL Auskick registration page.

For re-registration you will need your Auskick number and password.

If you don't have your number and password

• click on the 'Auskick Forgotten your NAB AFL Auskick number and/or password ?' button, or
• email NHJFC with name and date of birth of child and we'll send it to you

Auskick Facts

Our Auskick coordinator for 2010 is Scott Hartill.

The 2010 Auskick fee is $50 for each participant - there are no discounts as the pack costs the Club $50. For further info click Fees. In addition to the pack each participant will get an Auskick group photo, given out at an end of year function.

Auskick sessions of 1 hour duration on Sunday mornings (or other days and times as arranged) will be conducted by the North Hobart Junior Football Club according to the timetable below at John Turnbull Oval Lenah Valley (opposite LV Primary), New Town Oval (off New Town Rd next to Netball Centre), North Hobart Oval or other venues as arranged. Times are dependant on the rosters for Under 8's to 16's and the availability of venues. More information for 2010 will be posted on this page and/or advised by the coordinator via email. Please ensure that you have given us your correct email address.

Participants need to wear sports gear but are encouraged to wear any footy gear they have such as boots, socks, jumper & shorts (there is no requirement to purchase these) . The Club does not provide a jumper or any other clothing for Auskick participants. The Club sells merchandise including shorts, socks and jackets.

Parking at JTO - many of our JTO visitors park in the "Tasmanians with Disabilities" centre car park (the building next to the JTO car park - there is a connecting driveway). This area has restricted disability parking and the police may be called to enforce the parking restrictions. If you see anyone parking there, would you please point out to them the parking restriction signs. You can park in the Lenah Valley Primary School car park opposite (towards Augusta Rd) or on Creek Rd but check for no parking or no standing signs.

Guide for registration in a NHJFC team in 2010

Parents: here is a guide for deciding an appropriate team for your child if they participated in Auskick in 2009 & they want to play in one of our teams in 2010.

Age for U08:

• born in 2002 (turns 8 in 2010)
• born in 2003 (turns 7 in 2010) and has previously done a year of Auskick. Child is 1 year out of age for U08's.
• born in 2004 must continue in Auskick and can register for U08's next year.

Age for U09

• born in 2001 (turns 9 in 2010)

The Club prefers participants to play in their correct age group as it is more appropriate for their long term development. The Club will not usually approve 'out of age' for U09 and above. Any decision will depend on the child's development and circumstances as well as on team numbers.

The STJFL new registration form and proof of Date of Birth are required for U08 and U09. An Out of Age form is required if your child is not the correct age (is 'out of age') for the team.
